PLOT SUMMARY
What was meant to be a leisurely stroll through the woods with one's mother soon warps and distorts into a horrific experience that will forever be etched into the vulnerable mind of a child. Vitaly, a young Italian boy, had ignored his mother's warning to stay on the woodland path with her, in favor of pursuing a mysterious cat beckoning him with innocent meows. This cat had other plans for the young boy: with a quick lunge, it tears a petite, brightly-glowing orb--his soul--from Vitaly's chest, causing the young child to fall unconscious. When he awakens, his mother is nowhere to be seen, and he is alone in an ever-expansive forest, shrouded with tendrils of ominous shadows.
Creatures from the depths of darkness, commandeered by a Boogeyman-esque entity, as well as several other monsters Vitaly recognizes to be the same from the folktales his mother used to tell him, plague him at every corner: it was evident he would not be leaving these woods easily. With only his instincts, and the saving light of an acquired Coral Pendant, to protect him, this young child must force his way through the clutches of darkness, and avoid falling into the grasp of the monsters that hunt his soulless form.
The monsters are constantly on his heels, just waiting for Vitaly to lower his guard, and stop. The Boogeyman, Babau, is ever-watchful, alongside the all-seeing, malicious "Evil Eye". The monsters capable of speech taunt and fabricate pleas to lure the child in. So many fallacies...for one little soul.
Will this child be able to overcome the monsters his mother had foretold him about in stories? Or will he succumb to their lies, and be forever lost amidst the hellish forest without his soul?
