Week 10 DevLog_KU

Upon receiving feedback a week prior of our current game's status, and making the proper adjustments to cut off the "fat" in certain areas to reallocate our remaining time to one specific area to flesh out as a fully-playable demo, I began to take on other responsibilities surrounding these new changes: for our chosen "demo build" environment, the Well-Witch Clearing and its connecting Bog, my role was to begin creating a landscape mesh for the environment to build upon, and give life to. On top of that task, I had two others of the utmost importance as well: the first one being to gather all of the necessary details of Soul-Ladra to piece together to send off to another "division" for sound production--our plot summary, key art, a list of sounds we need for the game, and a mood board to visually depict the game's tone and aesthetic.

After everything was gathered and sent off accordingly, and readjusted properly to meet our team's needs, I shifted focus onto my other vital task: creating the landscape for the Well-Witch Clearing, and the Bog. Using the landscape tool from Unreal Engine 5, I began to sculpt the terrain accordingly to our environment's needs, trying to keep it as closely related to the positions of the blocked out stairs, paths, and dips to ensure nothing gets accidentally clipped through, covered, and or erased completely from the scene. This landscape will also act as a barrier to keep players within the playing area ONLY; it will be detailed, painted, and refined completely by Week 11 to appear more natural to the player's eyes, as well as be 100% finalized.

The other task for this week, that will assist going forward in an offline format, was to correctly and carefully create sublevels in the file to structure the level's organization of files and assets better. I reviewed videos both submitted by a member on the team, as well as external references (i.e. YouTube) to use as guides for making the sublevels, and saving them accordingly in the right places, and ensuring they "flow" well without causing issues later down the road, in terms of organization and what aspect needs to be situated where.
